Emre Legal’s Managing Director, Ms Low Seow Ling, was awarded with two notable awards for her efforts in providing educational talks on Lasting Power of Attorney and Wills.
Being in practice since 2013, Ms Low makes a conscious and determined effort to give back to society through her educational talks. These talks highlight the importance of estate planning and serve to educate members from all walks of society who may not necessarily have easy access to legal literacy.
In December 2023, Ms Low was presented with an award by the Cheng San – Seletar Community Centre, recognising her efforts in supporting and raising awareness for the residents of Ang Mo Kio. To date, Ms Low has organised talks and spoken before hundreds of residents on the importance of doing their Lasting Power of Attorney and Wills.
When asked about the impact of the work she has done, Ms Low said: “I’ve had people coming up to me after talks to share stories about their lives and how the knowledge I shared has empowered them to better deal with many issues and concerns that they have. For example, they learnt how to safeguard the interests of their children with special needs, and prevent future family disputes after they pass on”.
Ms Low added that she intends to continue raising awareness through such community talks, while also planning to create content for more higher-needs groups such as single parents. She said that her future collaborations with other speakers from relevant industries, such as financial consultants, would further serve to provide a more holistic view on estate planning.
Both Ms Low and the rest of the Emre Legal team look forward to furthering their outreach efforts and collaborating with community partners to raise awareness on the importance of estate planning.
